Sometimes I start cosplays and don’t finish them. I think all cosplayers have tried loosing motivation half-way through a project. It sucks, because you’ve wasted time and materials and got nothing to show for it.
That’s how it was with my Moonpriest cosplay. I started it at the beginning of 2021 and finished it in September… After many months of it sitting in a box in the back of my closet. I was around 70% done with it when I tried it on and didn’t like what I saw. But as things happened, I had an event – one of the very rare of 2021, and I really wanted to bring something new to show. So I pulled myself together and got back to working on a project I hated – I figured I’d wear it once, do a photoshoot and pack it neatly in a box to never be worn again. But here we are, a few months later and I’m kind of liking it. Even making a 2nd weapon for it. Who would’ve known?
So I figured it was time to make a write-up. It’s not that thorough – I forgot many things and since I wasn’t enjoying working on it or very proud of how it looked during the process, there’s not as many progress photos as usual.
