Scificon 2024

May 1, 2024

Scificon is getting better and better every year, and I think this year went really well! Since I was in charge of the cosplay contests, I felt a bit extra pressure this time for it to succeed, but I’m happy to say that I felt that almost everything went as planned!

There were a lot more booths than last year, it felt like, and unlike the previous years, there were almost no booths who were only there 1 of the days. The cosplay shows went as planned, with a good amount of talented people participating and some nice trophies this year as well. Since I was working, I sadly didn’t get to take that many photos, but I always  feel that it’s a sign that I was having fun and enjoying the moment!

Saturday some of my friends from Warcrafters came by and it was great to see them again! Sunday I also got to spend some time with friends that I haven’t seen in a really long time. It’s one of my favourite things about cosplay cons – just meeting friends and doing goofy things together,

All in all, I really like where Scificon is going. It may have started out as a Star Wars convention, but it is so much more now, and it will continue to expand and improve every year, I’m sure. Benny Ray – the main organizer and man behind the whole thing – is an impressive person, who just makes stuff happen! I think it’s very admirable.

Below are some of the few photos I did take – with the judges, with old friends, with my sister in the Wonder Woman cosplay I made, me being very tired and hungry at the end of the day and a signed print from Scificon 2015 of me and Benny Ray!
