2026 – what’s new?

January 28, 2026

I know it’s been very quiet here lately. There’s several reasons – for one thing, november and december usually has me busy with non-cosplay things, but also because my projects just haven’t gone my way recently. I did finish Galadriel, finally, and I did a photoshoot with her in our home studio, but I haven’t yet worn her out of the house – and I’m not sure I will, to be honest. White dresses with trails are not really convention friendly. So we’ll see if she gets to leave the house in 2026.

My Barkbloom druid was very close to being done… Emphasis on the was. I wanted to try on what I had so far, and when I took it out from the shelf where I store my on-going projects, it turns out that the pleather I used was so bad, that it started falling apart just from sitting in the closet. It honestly just made me feel so defeated that I put it back and for now that project is taking a break until I’m done being angry. I’ll probably make a new corset from real leather, because at this point, I am just DONE wasting my time on plastic. My older druid cosplays have also all started peeling because of the pleather, and it makes me very sad.

But I haven’t completely stopped working on cosplays! I have two small, fun projects that I’ve been wanting to do for ages and now I’m finally working on them!

One is Queen Fyora from Neopets. Maybe some of you who are as old as me will remember that good, old browser-based game. I still have my account from almost 23 years ago, and while I don’t really play, I have a lot of fond memories from it, and I always loved all the faeries. And Fyora is purple, which is my favourite colour, so I chose her! I already finished the dress and I’m learning 3D modelling, so I could make her crown and staff myself!

Another cosplay I have dreamed of making for a long time is Totally Hair Barbie. I never got that doll when I was a child, but I loved it and I still want it, but haven’t found it in a price range I’m willing to pay, so instead, I will turn myself into one. And it will be nice with a comfy cosplay that doesn’t require a wig. I spent many days making a design for the fabric myself, so it would look similar, but scaled to human size, and I had it custom-printed from Tiska fabrics.  Shout out to this company, the quality is perfect! The colours look exactly like my design and the lycra I ordered is a nice, thick version that feels and looks great. I recommend this company, and they’re located in EU, so no import fees! The prices are a bit high, but I honestly think it’s fair for something custom like that. I’ve added a photo of my fabric and of the doll in question – since I don’t have it, I have taken the photo from Barbiepedia  (Totally had an awesome trip down memory lane on their extensive catalogue of Barbies).

Soon I’ll be able to reveal my first trip of the year – I’m waiting for the event to announce me before I can share it, but I’m very excited about it! Stay tuned, hopefully soon I’ll have new cosplays to show!
